The first SUBBIMATT webinar successfully took place on 6 November 2025, bringing together over 50 registered participants from research institutions, industry, and innovation networks.

Organised by CENTEXBEL, Tinexta Innovation Hub, and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), the event introduced the project’s objectives and its innovative approach to developing biobased and bioinspired Smart Textile Materials designed to address current and future energy needs.

During the session, Lien Van der Schueren (CENTEXBEL) presented an overview of the SUBBIMATT Project, while Pegah Zahedifar and David De Smet (CENTEXBEL) discussed the design of sustainable and healable polyurethane (PU). The webinar was moderated by Kate Trompeta (NTUA).

The event marks the beginning of a series of webinars that will be organised every six months to showcase the project’s latest research results and applications in areas such as shape-morphing building envelopes, automotive interiors, and adaptive garments.
